BFTech or Bachelor in Fashion Technology is a 4-year undergraduate program that deals with the various technical aspects associated with the apparel manufacturing sector. Technical aspects apart, aesthetic and design aspects to are incorporated in the course curriculum for a better understanding of the manufacturing processes, selection of materials, and quality management.
The course focuses on intermediate and advanced garment construction, with an emphasis on tailoring, fitting, formalwear techniques, and creating sustainable fashion. Support structures and fitting are major components of this course. You must have basic sewing proficiency before taking this course.
Eligibility
The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination. Apart from this, colleges also specify that in order to pursue a BFTech course aspirants should have studied subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at their 10+2 level.
Candidates who have pursued a three or four years diploma program in any branch of Engineering which is recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply for a BFTech course.

The course is a perfect blend of apparel technology, apparel manufacturing, merchandising and IT required for a fashion technologist. After graduation, you can get jobs such as Floor Manager, Merchandiser, Supervisor etc. You may join traditional Apparel/Textiles companies such as Madura, Reliance, ADEL etc. Or you can join the fashion companies such as Myntra, Amazon, which may have a dive into the Start-Up boom of India by floating your own start-up.
